August 4, 2026 – Seyfarth Shaw LLP has significantly boosted its Seattle Labor & Employment practice with the addition of partner Meg Burnham and six other lawyers, building on the firm’s recent additions of leading employment litigators Kathryn (Katie) Rosen and Devin Smith.

Burnham is being joined in Seyfarth’s Seattle Labor & Employment practice by senior counsel Scott Prange and Darrah Hinton, counsel Rebecca Lynch, and associates Katie Gould, Kathleen Grossman, and Lo Nelson.

Burnham, who comes to Seyfarth from Davis Wright Tremaine, is a trial‑focused employment lawyer who defends top-tier organizations in complex, high‑exposure matters—ranging from single‑plaintiff disputes to wage and hour and pay‑transparency class actions, agency investigations, and industrial insurance assessments.

Like Burnham, Rosen, and Smith, Prange, Hinton, Lynch, and Nelson all come to Seyfarth from Davis Wright Tremaine. Grossman moves to Seyfarth from Troutman Pepper Locke, while Gould had been with Skidmore & Fomina.

“Strategic expansion has been a focus of the Seattle office in 2026. Together with our recent additions of Katie Rosen and Devin Smith, this team significantly strengthens our ability to serve clients navigating complex wage and hour and employment matters across the Pacific Northwest and nationally,” said Thomas Wybenga, co-managing partner of Seyfarth’s Seattle office. “This group further solidifies our profile as the preeminent wage and hour defense firm in Washington state and beyond.”

Burnham’s practice spans single‑plaintiff disputes, wage and hour and pay transparency class actions, agency investigations, industrial insurance assessments, and other matters where trial readiness and strategic judgment are critical. She represents employers across diverse industries, including healthcare, aviation, technology, retail, food and beverage, transportation, and nonprofits.

“This exceptional team of lawyers, combined with the recent additions of Katie Rosen and Devin Smith, brings immediate depth to the Seattle Labor & Employment practice,” said Laura Maechtlen, chair of Seyfarth’s national Labor & Employment department. “Meg Burnham is a highly respected trial lawyer with deep experience handling Washington employment matters, wage and hour litigation, and complex class actions. Combined with the strength of this team, her arrival adds meaningful depth to our national Labor & Employment practice.”

Burnham has secured favorable outcomes in a wide range of employment disputes, including complete defense victories and significant reductions of potential exposure in high-stakes litigation.

“Meg Burnham is widely known and highly regarded throughout the Puget Sound employment bar for her trial credibility, based on meticulous preparation, sharp instincts and her strong command before juries and judges,” said Denice Tokunaga, co-managing partner of Seyfarth’s Seattle office. “Meg and these exceptional lawyers who have recently joined our continually growing Seattle office are strongly aligned with Seyfarth’s strategic needs in the Pacific Northwest and on the West Coast more broadly.”

Burnham is frequently called upon for her thought leadership on the changing employment laws in Washington state. She regularly writes legal updates, leads webinars for large audiences of HR professionals, and speaks before live audiences.

“Meg Burnham is a first-rate practitioner and a proven leader. We couldn’t be more excited to bring her to Seyfarth as a partner, along with the other six outstanding labor and employment lawyers here in Seattle,” said Lauren Parris Watts, leader of the firm’s Labor & Employment practice in Seattle. “They are highly collaborative and an excellent cultural fit who enhance both the Seattle office and Seyfarth’s national Labor & Employment practice.”

“This is an especially exciting time to be joining Seyfarth along with the incredible simultaneous infusion of talent here in Seattle,” said Burnham. “Seyfarth offers an amazing opportunity to expand my platform in the Pacific Northwest with its unparalleled reputation, its national footprint in labor and employment law, and its commitment to innovation and client service. I am also looking forward to collaborating again with many colleagues I have previously worked with.”

Prange provides extensive federal and state courtroom experience defending employers in high-stakes class actions, multiplaintiff disputes, and single-plaintiff litigation. He regularly represents clients before government agencies in all types of workplace and public accommodation matters. In addition to litigation, Prange serves as a trusted advisor to employers on all aspects of the employment relationship. He regularly advises clients in highly regulated industries, including health care, where employment decisions often involve overlapping compliance obligations, operational demands, and competing stakeholder interests.

Hinton leads employers through the full life cycle of traditional labor law matters: collective bargaining and contract administration; grievance and interest arbitration; unfair labor practice charges and trials before the NLRB and state labor boards such as Washington’s Public Employment Relations Commission (PERC); and union organizing campaigns. She conducts workplace investigations into misconduct, harassment, and discrimination complaints. Hinton represents employers in employment litigation involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination claims in court and before state and federal agencies.

Burnham received her JD from the University of Washington School of Law (2014) and her BA from the University of Washington.
