The strategic hire comes as the merged firms prepare to formally unite under a single brand, W1M, in June.
London & Capital and Waverton Investment Management the newly merged wealth and investment management firm, which is formally rebranding to W1M in June is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Hammond as Head of Private Wealth and US Private Wealth.
Reporting to the combined firm’s Co-Heads of Private Clients, Robert Paul and Rupert Elwes, Hammond will oversee the private client wealth and portfolio management functions with a view to growing and developing these areas over the coming months. He will also join the firm’s newly formed Private Client Group Governance team.
Hammond joins from the 1762 division of RBC Brewin Dolphin, where he has been since May 2018. There, he played an instrumental role in establishing its private wealth proposition, which provided access to a wide range of wealth management solutions. Serving as the firm’s Operations Director, he was responsible for managing the UHNW advice-led service, before moving to become Chief of Staff. Prior to 1762, Hammond worked at Baird & Co as its Chief Operating Officer and at C Hoare & Co as Head of Portfolio Management.
